What you won't find

A short list of nos.

Why people switch

How Vynko compares to other budget apps

Most budget apps are free until you hit a wall — a category cap, a locked report, a monthly fee. Vynko unlocks everything from day one.

The whole app, unlocked

Everything you need to track spending

A money manager that keeps the essentials close at hand, without burying you in features you'll never open.

Vynko reports screen with a category spending breakdown and monthly trend

See exactly where the money goes

Break spending down by category, tag, or payment mode, over a week, month, or year. Reports that answer real questions instead of showing you a wall of numbers.

  • Category, tag & payment-mode breakdowns
  • Compare this month to the last
  • Income and expense kept separate

Budgets that track themselves

Set a monthly budget overall or per category, and watch spent-versus-planned fill up as you go. No spreadsheets, no math — just a clear line you can see yourself approaching.

  • Overall or per-category limits
  • Live spent-vs-planned progress
Vynko savings goals screen with target amounts and progress rings

Save toward something real

Set a target and a deadline, then watch progress grow. Savings stay separate from your income and expense totals, so a goal contribution never looks like a spend.

  • Target amount and deadline
  • Progress you can actually feel

Recurring transactions

Rent, salary, subscriptions — log them once and Vynko posts them on schedule, with a review step first.

Payment modes

Tag every expense with cash, a wallet, or a specific card, and see spending by account — no bank linking needed.

Tags across categories

Tag a trip or a project across categories, then total the whole thing in one tap — however you slice your spending.

Books & currencies

Keep separate books for home, travel, or a side project — each with its own currency, categories, and members.

Your data, exportable

Export any book to CSV, Excel, or PDF. Auto backup runs daily, so your records are never one lost phone away from gone.

Reminders & nudges

A gentle daily reminder to log, plus due-date nudges for cards and bills. On-device, on your schedule.

Fast on purpose

Log an expense in about three seconds.

Vynko is manual by design — and those few seconds are the point. They're what keep you honest with yourself, without an app quietly reading your bank in the background.

Private by design

An expense tracker that doesn't read your SMS or link your bank

Vynko works on manual entry by design. It never asks for SMS permissions, never connects to your bank account, and never sells your data. Your entries sync to your account, back up automatically every day, and you can export everything whenever you want.

  • No SMS permissions, ever
  • No bank account linking
  • Daily automatic backups
  • Export your data anytime

Built around five ideas

  1. CalmNo charts screaming at you. A quiet, clear view you'll actually want to open.
  2. YoursYour data belongs to you — exportable to CSV, Excel, or PDF, always.
  3. FreeNot free until 20 categories. Free. No paywall, no premium tier, no trial timer.
  4. FastEvery expense logged in about three seconds. Manual entry that never feels like a chore.
  5. SharedHouseholds shouldn't need a spreadsheet. One book, everyone in it.

We built Vynko because every money app we tried wanted something back — a subscription, our bank login, permission to read our texts. So we made the one we actually wanted to use: calm, private, free, and honest about it.— the team at iToolVerse

Good questions

Questions, answered

Is Vynko really free?

Yes. Every feature — budgets, books, family sharing, reports, export — is free. There's no paywall, no premium tier, and no subscription.

Which phones does Vynko run on?

Vynko is built for Android and is available on Google Play. There's no iOS version yet.

How does family sharing work?

Create a book, send an invite link, and the people you invite can add and edit expenses in that book alongside you. It's one shared ledger for the household, not a bill-splitting app.

Does Vynko read my SMS or connect to my bank account?

No. Vynko is an expense tracker without bank linking or SMS access. You enter transactions yourself, which also means the app works the same in any country, with any bank.

Do I have to link a bank account to use it?

Never. Vynko works entirely on manual entry, so there's no bank login, no open-banking connection, and no third party in the middle. It also means it works offline and in any country.

Is my data backed up?

Yes. Your entries sync to your account and every book is backed up automatically once a day. You can also export your data to CSV, Excel, or PDF at any time.

Can I track more than one currency?

Yes. Each book has its own currency, so you can keep a home book in one currency and a travel book in another. Reports keep currencies separate rather than blending them.

Is Vynko good for couples, families, or roommates?

Yes. Invite anyone to a shared book and everyone adds to the same running total in real time — ideal for couples, families, and flatmates who want one shared view of spending.

Does Vynko work offline?

Yes. Because entries are manual and stored on your device, you can add and browse expenses without a connection. Changes sync to your account when you're back online.

Is Vynko a good free alternative to YNAB or Money Manager?

If you want a free budget app with no subscription, Vynko covers the essentials those apps charge for: monthly budgets, recurring transactions, reports, and household sharing — with no category caps.
